Crazy mental workout!!!

Just got back from an awesome workout with my trainer!! He is pushing me to my limits and beyond. I feel so good! I always get nervous before the workout that it's gonna hurt and I'm gonna get really tired but after the workout I feel so good that I look forward to the next one. Call me crazy but the happy hormones you get after a workout are unbelievable. my muscles are screaming and im beyond exhausted but I know its all for a good reason and I'm really proud of myself for doing what I am. The eating has got much better. i'm finding it easier to eat the right foods and not eat crap. I can see how this whole eating healthy and working out thing can be addictive especially if you are seeing the results. The main incentive that helps keep me on the straight and narrow is seeing results and I am definitely seeing them already. Here is to more workouts and eating well!!!

Day 4: Just to Clarify

Ok so here goes..... I'm ñot getting skinny I'm going back to my healthy way of eating that I do while I am pregnant. No I am not pregnant at the moment but I want to cut down on sugar and eat more healthier not so people can say "OMG your soooooo skinny" but because clothes fit better and look better when I am slimmer and I feel better within myself when I am slimmer. So this healthy lifestyle I am reverting to is for health reasons. When I am pregnant I have gestational diabetes and so later on in life I am more at risk for diabetes so my cutting down on sugar and carbs is in my interest and if by the by I loose weight then who would say no?? I definitely feel much better since I started 4 days ago. I have been eating healthier and maybe its all in the mind but I feel better.

Day 3 : Getting better and more used to it.

Today has been much better than previously as I havent been craving food as much.... :) For breakfast I had 1 tomato, one whole pepper and some cottage cheese which Effi ate some of. Then mid morning I had my Chia seed pudding which was amazing. Then had crustless spinach and mushroom quiche for lunch with a granola bar (it worked while I was preggo so it works now) I have been drinking a lot of water. Dinner brought on the soup that I had made yesterday which is still blinking amazing and so random. Then I was supposed to make just pasta (Whole wheat don't freak out) and a meat sauce but I was pinteresting and saw a slow cooker stuffed cabbage recipe and I was like hells yeah. I have had this cabbage in my fridge since forever so I finally had a use for it. So I made them this morning while my friend Charlotte was here. My dinner was made by 10:30am!!!! They were so delicious and a little spicy even though there was nothing spicy in it aside from half a pinch of pepper. I cut the rest of the cabbage up for another Pinterest recipe in which you rub garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper on the slices and roast them in the oven. Mine got a little over done but they were still great. That has been my day. Oh and I had mid afternoon some sugar free chocolate. Here is a collage of some of the foods I made today.

Irish Beef Stew Recipe.

4 servings

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp olive oil 1 lb stew meat 4 large carrots peeled and chopped 1 onion diced 2 cloves of garlic minced salt & pepper to taste 1/4 tsp thyme 1/4 tsp rosemary 1 large or 2 small bay leaves 2 cups of beef broth ( 2cups water and 2 tsp beef soup mix) 2 Tbsp marg 2 Tbsp Flour ( i used gluten free but wasnt so good) heaping 1/3 cup frozen peas Brown the meat in the olive oil. Pour in onions, carrots, garlic and spices and cook for 5 mins. Deglaze pan with beef broth. Cover and simmer for 2-4 hours ( i did 2 anda half and it was fine) when you are ready to serve take out the bay leaf. mix flour and marg together until smooth and add to the pot. add the peas to the pot. When the gravy has thickened it is done.

Dinner day 2

A soup that I randomly made up of a bunch of veggies from my fridge and some lentils and barley.  I couldn't actually believe it came out as well as it did. Beyond delish although some of the lentils could have been cooked better.
Salmon with my favourite south African lemon pepper seasoning and some veggies.

Day 2 : So Far

For breakfast which was really really rushed I had Chia seed chocolate pudding. now before you all start jumping down my throat..... it was sweetened with Xylitol. Which is a natural sweetener that is not carcinogenic like splenda. My father (who is a dentist) got me into it because it is actually good for your teeth as it prevent the build up of plaque. The chia seed pudding has a weird texture but the health benefits are more important to me (and the cocoa helps.
Those are a few of the benefits. Then i went to the gym to my spinning class!! OMG it was amazing! Hectic but amazing. the people were so nice in the class. telling me to start at my own pace and just push through it. I really enjoyed it and feel very invigorated but exhasuted.(does that even make sense? probably not lol) Also beyond starving so am eating Mushroom pizzas. Which are big portobello mushrooms with marinara sauce (smallest amount)and cheese baked in the toaster oven until the cheese has melted delish.
There is my day so far

Dinner and my work out

Great workout at the gym here is one picture of my elliptical workout and I also did interval training on the treadmill for 10 minutes burning another 70 calories.  I feel beyond good. I also went on four weight machines which I did 3 reps of 20.

Dinner was one of our favourites Irish Beef Stew but instead of using mashed potatoes I used brown rice. Was yum. First day of my journey is done! So excited and looking forward to seeing some great results soon.

I drank all my 2 litres of water!!

Lunch

Salad which consists of lettuce tomato baby corn and green beans with my special balsamic vinegar dressing. Which includes olive oil, balsamic vinegar,  salt and ina paarmans garlic and herb seasoning.  I have heard somewhere that vinegar brings down your blood sugar levels which ia not perfect for my situation.
Ryvita and tuna (this time I cheated and used bought it ready made)

RPM tomorrow morning 9:30am

AAAAAHHHHHHH so I have booked myself in for my first spinning class tomorrow morning. So nervous as last time I did it I literally couldn't breathe but I'm excited about all the calories I will be burning!! Who is up for a mental class like this. Have you done spinning before???? How was it for you? Share your experiences.

Wow Already??? and my Pledge to myself and you.

Yes already!!!! It hasn't been an hour since I have posted and all I can think about is eating chocolate. I'm gonna hang in there and do this properly. I promise to write down all the food that I eat during the day and be honest about it even if I cheat. I will drink 8 cups of water and do the right things for my body like excersize and sleep right (kids permitting) Looking forward to this journey toward ultimate skinny happiness! Golda

Day 1 : Breakfast and a Little introduction.

(Funny Northern accent) 8:55am and Day one on the journey to skinnyville via sugar free city has begun and I'm eating tomatoes and cottage cheese for breakfast.
This is what I ate every day in Israel for 7 months and it's a great way to start the day. Protein and 1 or 2 of your five a day!!!! No sugar. The main way I think that people will loose weight is through cutting out sugar in their diet. the fat content of the food is somewhat important but not as important as the sugar and carb content. Now I'm not saying that you can't eat carbs coz you can. just the right ones. Complex carbs (whole grain carbs) are much better than simple carbs (White grain carbs) because they release sugar much slower after being eaten so it gives you lasting energy rather than the spike.
Here is what breakfast looks like.........
However the first thing I put in my mouth this morning ( aside from my toothbrush) was 2 cups of water. You want to rehydrate your body as soon as possible after waking  up. I learned this from my grandfather who, for as long as I can remember, drinks 3 glasses of water before anything. He is going to turn 100 in march and has no wrinkles and perfect skin.
